About Us

Sorority History

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 13th, 1913 by 22 dynamic trailblazers on the campus of Howard University. We are a public service non-profit organization that aims to embody our five point programmatic thrusts: Educational Development, Economic Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and International Awareness and Involvement. We fulfill our purpose by partaking in public acts of service and hosting a variety of interactive and thought-provoking programs.

The Pi Omicron Chapter

The Pi Omicron Chapter was chartered on April 14, 1988, by nine distinguished women on the campus of Wake Forest University. Our chapter is the first sorority black or white to be chartered on our campus. Since then, we have continued to pave the way and uphold the Pi Omicron legacy.  Delta Sigma Theta Sorority inspires its members to adopt important values such as leadership, empathy, and ambition, and to always leave a positive impact. We’ve made a life-long commitment that will not only advance our leadership and professional development skills but empowers us to advocate for change!
